About the Role: Aquila is seeking a Software Developerto join our team in supporting one of the countrys premier defense research organizations.
The group is seeking an experienced software developer with 15+ years of experience in full-stack development to develop and modify software used in the processing of optical Space Domain Awareness (SDA) image files.
There are a few requirements for the position: • Must be a U.
S Citizen (Green Cards / Visas do not qualify) • Willingness to undergo a comprehensive background investigation and maintain a personal security clearance.

) • Reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado What You'll Do: Candidates must have experience in various software languages, development environments, operating systems, software management tools, cloud-based processing, and agile programming.
The position will use test sample data reference files/code to modify existing and develop new software to process images collected from SDA sensors to produce accurate measures of satellite position, velocity, visual magnitude, and timing.
Software must also incorporate reference data to correlate the results with previously known satellite states and must produce output messages in formats dictated by end users.
The software will be developed in a secure facility on highly classified networks.
What Youll Bring: • 2 years of Converting data between file types (JSON/GSON, XML, HTML5, HDF, SSN message formats) • 4 years of Processing SDA sensor data • Masters Degree • 10 years of ability to work with internal teams (developers, administrators, IT security, and data personnel) • 4 years of assisting in the installation, testing, and usage of developed software • Currently holds a Top Secret Clearance • 4 years of Satellite orbital regimes and orbital mechanics • 10 years of Programming Languages (Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Python) • 4 years of Development environments/tools (Eclipse, Apache) • 4 years of Software management tools (Git, GitHub/GitLab, Subversion, TeamForge) Working Knowledge of the Following: • Experience in processing SDA sensor data • A working knowledge of satellite orbital regimes and orbital mechanics • Programming proficiency in Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Python • Demonstrated ability to convert data between file types such as JSON/GSON, XML, HTML5, HDF, and SSN message formats • Experience using development environments/tools such as Eclipse, Apache • Software management tools such as Git, GitHub/GitLab, Subversion, TeamForge • Ability to work with mixed internal teams of software developers, system administrators, IT security, and database professionals • Ability to assist external companies, business professionals, and govt operators in the installation, testing, and usage of facility's developed software • M.

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado Working Hours: The duties generally require work to be performed during normal office hours of 8 am 4:30 pm but may occasionally require off-hour work to meet the scheduling constraints of military software users and/or external contractor partners.
Work Schedule: This position will be 90-100% onsite due to the nature of the work.
There may be some remote flexibility on a case-by-case basis of 1-2 days a month but there are no regular remote days.
Clearance: Candidates should have an active Top Secret clearance in order to be considered for this position due to the nature of the work being done.
An active TS/SCI is highly desirable.
Travel: The position requires travel to local military installations approximately 1-3 times/week.
Out-of-town travel is expected to be 3-5 times per year and approximately a week in length, each time.
