The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee seeks a Database Administrator (DBA) to play a crucial role in evaluating, optimizing, and maintaining the organization's database systems.
The DBA will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficiency, security, and reliability of the databases supporting various mission-critical applications and initiatives.
In addition, the DBA will need to manage time wisely, adapt to changing priorities and communicate accordingly, assist in escalations, and act as a bridge between vendors, project teams, USOPC teams, and management.

Here's how you'll have an impact: Database Evaluation Conduct thorough assessments of existing database systems to identify performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and align database strategy to business needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support database-related projects.
Report database performance issues.
Database Security and Compliance Implement and enforce database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and auditing, to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Implement database security measures and monitor data integrity.
Backup and Recovery Design and implement robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability during system failures or data corruption.
Contribute to regular backups, data recovery, and disaster recovery tests.
Collaboration and Documentation Collaborate with application developers, system administrators, and other teams to provide database-related support and expertise.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
Stay apprised of the latest trends and developments in data administration and operations.
Capacity Planning Monitor database resource utilization and growth patterns to proactively anticipate and address future capacity needs.
Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3-5 years experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in a mid-level role, managing and optimizing complex database environments Experience with Snowflake Experience with various business process and system modeling tools, including Data Flow Diagrams, Process Models, ER Diagrams, Dimensional Data Models, Context Models, Event Modeling, State Expertise in backup/recovery/fail-over methods and best practices Experience with performance monitoring and tuning tools Knowledge of Windows Server administration concepts Proficiency in database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server Familiarity with database security best practices and compliance standards.
Strong SQL querying and troubleshooting skills Ability to provide input to optimize current databases and queries High level of analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to conduct research into database issues and resolve as required Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality databases Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Strong understanding of the organization's goals and objectives Highly self-motivated and self-directed Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, multi-national environment Ability to contribute to the mission of promoting Olympic sports and values across the United States Here are some things that will make you super competitive for this role: Certification Preferred: Microsoft Certified Database Administrator Windows Server Administration Fundamentals Certification is a plus.

Here's some more information you need to know: Hiring Pay Range: $78,189 to $99,300 per year.
This full-time, exempt position is intended to work 40 hours per week.
Bonus: This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program at a 10% target.
This program is subject to change or elimination by the USOPC at any time at its sole discretion.
Benefits: The full-time position will be eligible for USOPC benefits.
