An active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain is required.
The primary task is focused on the test and evaluation of multiple SATCOM terminals, baseband devices, and cryptographic solutions in a dynamic government communications lab environment.
Applicants will be working with a team of motivated engineers to design and execute test programs ranging from quarterly security releases up to modernization of legacy equipment or test and evaluation of modern terminal solutions.
Responsibilities: Develop professional and concise briefing packages to both internal and external senior leaders and forums on systems engineering, integration, and test activities.
Generate products (plans and reports) based on Department of Defense Architectural Framework (DoDAF) operational and system views to support the evaluation of end-to-end interoperability for SATCOM systems.
Assess program level test products, such as test reports, as-run procedures, and raw data outputs, for compliance with enterprise level system/segment requirements.
Coordinate with multi-service agencies regarding systems engineering, integration, and/or test events and efforts to further the future DoD SATCOM vision.
Support the Space Systems Command and external multi-service agencies as a SATCOM system Subject Matter Expert (SME) to enable the missions and goals of various Combatant Commands and Components across the DoD.
Required Skills & Experiences: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, computer science, or equivalent technical discipline from an accredited institution Knowledge of DoD/US Space Force (USSF) test processes and documentation and Operational Test (OT) experience supporting a DoD Operational Test Agency or Organization Demonstrated ability to work with military or DoD civilian clients and managing professional relationships Demonstrated ability of working with MILSATCOM equipment and troubleshooting Demonstrated ability of working with employing handling procedures for Communications Security (COMSEC) materials and devices Must be a motivated, self-starter capable of autonomous on-the-job learning/improvement Understanding of the concepts and practice of systems engineering throughout the system lifecycle phases of concept, development, production, use, support, and retirement 5+ years of work experience in Systems Engineering or Test Engineering 5+ years of experience in development and documentation of Systems/Test engineering documents, including requirements, test reports, requirements verification, and requirements traceability 5+ years space systems experience (operations, maintenance, development).
