Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Junior Software Engineer to join our team.
In this position, you will be tasked with designing, developing, documenting, testing, deploying, and debugging software applications.
This role involves researching, identifying, and implementing solutions for intricate, multi-disciplinary software challenges.
Specifically, you will contribute to the CCS-C system, which delivers satellite control capabilities for the MILSATCOM programs of the United States Space Force (USSF) and United States Space Command (USSPACECOM).
What You'll Be Doing:
Implementing new features and resolving bugs to ensure smooth integration with pre-existing systems
Conducting software development using Agile Methodology
Documenting issues and enhancements using Jira
Providing software engineering support for multi-language systems, including C/C++, Python, and Java
Improving usability, performance, and maintainability of systems through analysis and bug fixes
Coordinating, integrating, and resolving defects in collaboration with the test team
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelors Degree or Higher and 0-5 years experience
Active Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance
Proficient in both Linux and Windows environments
Strong proficiency in C/C++, Java, and Python programming languages
Demonstrated experience in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems
Prior experience with Satellite Command and Control (C2) ground systems OR Department of Defense related experience
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Proficiency in software development and troubleshooting within a collaborative team environment
Previous experience with legacy software and participation in modernization efforts
Expertise in Java and shell scripting languages
Hands-on experience with Agile development methodologies
Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite
Background in technical leadership roles
In-depth knowledge and experience in the full software development lifecycle
