KAAUM Enterprises is looking for a full-time patient and empathetic mentor to manage our Residential Day/Over-night Program.
Our Residential Direct Support Professionals also act as mentors and trusted resources that facilitate/coordinate goals of the individuals they serve to ultimately achieve independence.
*Essential Functions* * Curate, plan, and execute calendar of community-focused activities to promote independence and the achievement of individual outcomes * Work with a group of Developmental/Intellectual disabilities teaching life skill activities to program participants while modeling empathy, understanding, and flexibility.
Group ratio: Two to Three (2/3) provider to one or two (1/2) people.
* Provide information, support, and role-modeling to program participants to increase their ability to self-advocate * Demonstrate responsibility for the daily care, training, and supervision of the individuals * Prepare and completes all forms of documentation as required * Demonstrate commitment to excellent service to fulfill agency mission and values * Provide personal care assistance as necessary in a safe and consistent manner consistent with the guidelines in the participant's ISP to facilitate the individuals' ability to participate in the program activities * Adhere to agency-wide and program-specific policies and work rules to ensure efficiency and compliance * Other duties as assigned *Experience And Qualifications:* · Valid Drivers License; MVR will be run and results evaluated · Must be 21 or over due to Medicaid requirements · A year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities · Ability to be creative and think outside the box · Strong organization and implementation skills · Professional written and verbal communication skills *Physical Requirements:* · Ability to drive and help individuals in/out of vehicle · Ability to escort group of individuals through community activities · Must be able to lift 20 pounds at times This description is intended to be sufficient to identify the job level and to be illustrative of the duties that may be required.
