We are seeking a mid-level Software Engineer with a DevOps focus to join our L3Harris Space Defense Solutions team in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
This position is for the National Space Test and Training Complex – Orbital (NSTTC-O) program.
The successful candidate will work as an integral member of our DevOps team working with 5 -7 other DevOps engineers serving two distinct environments in the unclassified AWS/GovCloud space and the classified cloud solution.
Typical day-to-day activities include CI/CD pipeline maintenance, deployment and system configuration automation, and containerization optimization.
Work is done using the SAFe methodology in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Remote work is permitted, but, if cleared, the candidate will need to report to the classified facility in Colorado Springs from time to time and will need to appear at our unclassified facility for agile ceremonies such as Sprint and PI demos and planning events.

Essential Functions:
Analyzing, designing, developing release automation for deployment, patching and cyber hardening of applications using Ansible and Puppet
Work with DevOps team to design and deploy Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines in hybrid virtual machine and Kubernetes deployment targets
Build tools as needed to improve automation, reduce occurrences of errors, and continuously improve our pipeline
Ensure all systems security operations and maintenance activities are properly documented and updated as necessary
Support integration of disparate systems for customer end systems in an air-gapped operations environment
Promote DevOps as a culture
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and 6 years of software experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience.
In leiu of degree, 10 years of software experience.
CompTIA Security+
“Relevant Experience” means demonstrable experience at the level requested in the following areas:
Amazon Web Services (AWS), including basic services such as EC2, S3, AMI's, and VPCs
Infrastructure-as-code (IAC) using Ansible and Puppet
Developing CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins files and/or Gitlab-CI
Application containerization and Helm/Kubernetes integration
Utilizing, and developing in, both Windows and Linux environments
Working within an Agile software development team
Preferred Additional Skills:
Active Top Secret or TS/SCI security clearance
Experience with OpenStack Platform (OSP)
Experience in Rancher Kubernetes for Government (RKE2)
Familiarity with Platform One tools
Experience with RHEL 7/8 Environments
RedHat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
Microsoft System Administrator (MCSA)
In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $91,500 - $170,500.
