1890 - The front of the trunk lifts up to form a dresser, complete with original parts, caster wheels, drawers, upper compartment, mirror, latches, braces, leather handles and lock | These trunks were manufactured for traveling theatre groups, musicians, Vaudeville acts, and others that were popular in the late 1890's to the 1920's.
A very well built, heavy duty trunk which has strong working hardware, braces, and latches.
In original condition, has not been restored.
The trunk also has the original label inside the lid which has "Frank A.
Stallman, Manufacturer of Stallman's Dresser Trunk, Theatrical and Commercial Work, 31 & 33 W Spring St.
Columbus, O.
" The Stallman name is also cast into the metal brace on each side.
The thick leather handles are original and not replacements.
The beveled glass mirror is the original in great condition.
A
special lid compartment folds down and has the original lid with latches and a Stallman paper label.
Also additional space beneath the bottom drawer which is about 4" high.
The trunk is in very good + original condition.
